Hotels’ food programs for National Day

To prepare for Vietnam’s National Day on Friday, a number of big hotels in Ho Chi Minh city will launch special programs featuring various kinds of foods by talented chefs to serve diners and their families.

SEA LION Buffet Hotels’ food programs for National Day

The hotel is staging a full-on local and international buffet on Friday evening at its Nineteen Restaurant.

Diners may have difficulty choosing from an array of tempting main courses, desserts and will have a free flow of house wine. The buffet is priced at VND1.14 million++ per person.

Atrium Cafe of the Legend Hotel Saigon celebrates National Day from Friday to Sunday. The hotel’s experienced local chefs will add Vietnamese dishes to the buffet spread. Diners can enjoy authentic Vietnamese delicacies from Northern, Central and Southern regions. There will be a free flow of wine, beer, cocktails, fresh fruit juice, soft drinks, coffee and tea for brunch; and wine, beer, cocktails, soft drinks, coffee and tea for dinner. The buffet is priced at VND630,000 ++ per person for brunch (from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.); and VND760,000 ++ per person for dinner (from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.). Children from 4 to 12 years old are half price.

The Lotus Court Chinese Restaurant on level 1 of the Moevenpick Hotel Saigon offers guests the finest dim sum brunch by Chinese Master Ng Chee Kin and his talented team. The brunch is available from Friday to Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for VND250,000++ per person.

The lunch buffet is open from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and costs VND668,800++ per person while dinner is from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. priced at VND960,000++ per person including a free flow of house wine, coffee and tea.

A World Of Cuisines To Discover

In August and September, some Saigontourist-owned hotels in Ho Chi Minh City serve dishes of local and foreign styles

Hotel Majestic

Hotel Majestic will launch a Southeast Asian cuisine program from August 18-21. Buffets with Malaysian, Thai and Indonesian dishes are served every day from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Cyclo Café Restaurant, on the first floor.
Customers are free to use refreshment drinks. Each diner is also given a free glass of draft beer, cocktail or soft drink, or a bottle of mineral water.

During a buffet, customers can enjoy a traditional music show. Children are each given a sand picture to paint with their favorite colors.

The buffet costs an adult VND499,000 (US$23.8) and a child VND299,000. The prices include a 10% service fee and 10% VAT.

Continental Hotel

La Fayette Restaurant at Continental Hotel Saigon will serve special dishes from 6:30-9:30 p.m. of September 2-4. The dishes are served in set menus. Some famous dishes of the restaurant are goose liver lamb and seafood. French-style desserts include soufflé au chocolat and crème brulée.

During the meal time, diners can also enjoy a live concert performed by pianists and violinists. A set menu for one person is priced at VND720,000 (US$35). Women customers are given a free glass of French wine or fruit juice.

Liberty Central

Liberty Central Hotel has launched lunch buffets with Vietnamese dishes of the three regions since this month. The buffets are served every day at the hotel’s Central Restaurant from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

At night, the restaurant on the hotel’s first floor also serves à-la-carte European dishes. The meal goes along with a live concert.

First Hotel

Hoa Su 1 Restaurant at First Hotel will serve special Vietnamese dishes of the three regions on the occasion of the National Day (September 2). The dishes are served in the form of a buffet.

The buffet begins at 6 p.m. on September 2-3, with more than 60 dishes. New exclusive dishes include crisp-fried morning glory stuffed with pork and crispy salad. At the buffet, customers will also enjoy a music show and join a lucky draw.

Buffet tickets cost VND330,000 (US$15.7) for adults and VND180,000 for children. The restaurant gives a ticket to any customer that buys 10 tickets before August 25.

Bat Dat Hotel

Bat Dat Restaurant of Bat Dat Hotel will serve selected Vietnamese and Chinese dishes from September 2-4 to welcome the National Day (September 2). More than 40 dishes are served in the form of a buffet.

Typical dishes are grilled apple snail with pepper, chicken steamed in lotus leaf, roasted field mice and grilled unprocessed snakehead fish. The buffet lasts from 6:00-9:30 p.m. At the buffet, customers can sing songs on the stage as a way to communicate with other people.

The buffet ticket costs an adult VND249,000 (US$11.9) and a child VND149,000. The prices include drinks and icecream. Every diner is offered a glass of cocktail. Before September 1, customers are given a ticket for buying every 10 tickets. The tickets are also delivered to customers’ door.

Oscar Saigon Hotel

To welcome the National Day (September 2), Oscar Saigon Hotel will launch a week for delicious Vietnamese dishes. Buffets with about 40 selected dishes of northern, central and southern styles in addition to seafood hot pot dishes are served from 6:30-9:30 p.m. from August 30-September 3.

On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights, the buffet price is VND120,000-240,000. The price for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights is VND130,000-270,000. Drinks are free of charge.

Downtown Van Canh Restaurant will launch a buffet program featuring Saigon vegetarian dishes from Saturday until August 29.

The program, which has clean and fresh dishes made from organic materials, will be launched for the first time since 2000 and is sure to be popular with vegetarians and meat eaters alike. A vegetarian lifestyle not only serves traditional religious beliefs but ensures that we get the necessary nutrition to keep us fit, young and healthy and it also helps the environment.

The program is from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for lunch and 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. for dinner and is priced at VND130,000 per adult for lunch and VND160,000 per adult for dinner and VND80,000 per child for both. Guests purchasing ten tickets will get one free and a 5% discount coupon for the next visit.

The restaurant will also offer food and products made by people in An Phuc disabled children’s center to raise money for the center.

The restaurant also offers Gival vegetarian moon cakes to serve guests for the Mid-Autumn Festival. From August 15 to 30, the restaurant will prepare grilled hotpot buffet featuring more than 60 hotpot dishes accompanied with vegetarian dishes priced at VND250,000 per adult and VND140,000 per child.
